Thomas K. McKean, M.D., Ph.D
Dr. McKean completed his Ph.D. in Pharmacology at Northeast Louisiana University School of Pharmacy in Monroe, Louisiana. He attended medical school at Louisiana State University of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed his residency in psychiatry at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in North Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. McKean is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has been serving the Hickory community since 1997.
James T. Barker. M.D.
Dr. Barker completed his MD degree at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. He completed his residency at University of Virginia where he served as chief resident in psychiatry. He is dual trained in psychiatry and internal medicine. Dr. Barker is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and joined Hickory Psychiatric Center in 2004.
David Sipple, PA.-C
David Sipple completed his Physicians Assistant degree at the University of Nebraska. David is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. David joined Hickory Psychiatric Center in 2005.
Javier Rojas, MD
Dr. Rojas treats a wide range of behavioral health-related medical conditions in adult patients including depression, bipolar and mood disorders, psychosis, schizophrenic disorders, dementia-related behaviors, anxiety, panic attacks, addiction, sleep disorders and suicidal or homicidal ideation. He is actively involved in bringing new psychiatric medications and pharmaceuticals to the market through clinical research trials.
Dr. Rojas received his medical degree from University of Arizona-Tucson, and completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Marie R. Barkley, DMSc, PA-C
Dr. Barkley completed her Doctorate of Medical Science at Lynchburg University in Lynchburg, Virginia and is a Certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Dr. Barkley is also involved in clinical research trials for the development of psychiatric medications.
